About Prayer Times in Makkah
Makkah — the holiest city in Islam, home of the Kaaba and Masjid al-Haram — sets the standard for prayer times across the Muslim world. The prayer times Makkah on this page use the Umm al-Qura calculation method, developed right here at Umm al-Qura University, so they match the official times announced in the Haram.
During Hajj and Umrah seasons, millions of pilgrims depend on precise Makkah prayer times to plan their tawaf, sa'i and prayers in congregation. Sehri time in Makkah ends at Fajr and Iftar time in Makkah begins at Maghrib — during Ramadan, the Haram serves Iftar to hundreds of thousands of fasting people every single evening, one of the great sights of the Muslim world.
This page updates every day automatically through the free Aladhan prayer-times API, showing today's Fajr, Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha for Makkah with the Hijri date. Prayer in Makkah carries a reward multiplied 100,000 times over prayer elsewhere, which is why the five daily prayers in Masjid al-Haram draw crowds that fill the courtyards, rooftops and surrounding plazas. The Umm al-Qura method — literally "Mother of Villages," the classical name for Makkah — was developed at the city's own university and is the official standard of Saudi Arabia: Fajr at 19° solar depression, Isha 90 minutes after Maghrib (120 in Ramadan).
If you are performing Umrah, plan tawaf between prayers to avoid the rush, and arrive at least 45 minutes before Jumu'ah (Friday Dhuhr) — the Haram fills completely. During Ramadan, Taraweeh prayers led by the Haram's renowned imams draw millions over the month. This page shows today's exact Makkah times with the Hijri date, refreshed daily and free forever — a small companion for the journey of a lifetime.
